Roskilde Festival 25
Welcome to the Student Council RUC's page for Roskilde Festival! We are glad to have you here as part of our community. While we mainly cater to RUC-students, it's not exclusive to RUC, so you're welcome to bring friends from outside who wants to volunteer as well
As a volunteer you will work for 32 hours during the festival.
We offer three types of positions, which you can read about below:
Camping Host
As a camping host for SR in "Get a Silent Spot" you will be the person ensuring that the guests are complying with the rules and enjoying the space. Your tasks involve ensuring there is no loud music at night, creating a sense of safety, chatting with the guests, and helping them keep it clean by handing out trash bags. You might also help restock toilet paper in the toilets or close them off and call the sanitary patrol. You will not have to handle bodily fluids or anything that crosses your boundaries.
On the first day, we have a lot of shifts. We are handling the reception, scanning tickets and guiding people to their spots. We will also be keeping an eye on the fence, so it isn't flipped by runners, and if that happens, we can call security.
During the festival you must have at least two shifts during the four music days, with the others being placed during the warm-up period. There is also the option of having night shifts. You can wish for specific days you want off, and we will do our best to accommodate them, but it's also a puzzle that needs solving, and therefore we might not be able to accommodate all wishes.
Interested in more responsibility?
We also need supervisors and dispatch volunteers. As a supervisor you will be leading teams of camping hosts and reportback to the HQ-tower through a walkie-talkie. As a dispatch you will be sitting in the HQ-tower on the camping site where you'llcoordinate with the supervisors, the service manager and make sure that everything is running smoothly for the volunteers – ensuring sign-in, sign-out and breaks. As a dispatch you will be working with RF's seasoned service managers in the HQ-tower.They are the ones with the final say for the area.
These posts also include a seminar with RF that prepares you for your tasks as a supervisor or dispatch.
