The Student Council RUC at Roskilde Festival 2026
We are volunteering at the Roskilde Festival from the 27th of June until the 5th of July
and we want YOU to join us!
Welcome to the Student Council RUC's page for Roskilde Festival! We are glad to have you here as part of the community with fellow students. While we cater to RUC students, it's not exclusive to RUC, so you're welcome to bring friends from other universities and colleges!
As a volunteer you will work for 32 hours during the festival spread across 4 days before, during and after the music days.
We offer three types of positions, which you can read about below:
As a camping host (general responsibility) in "Get a Silent Spot" you will be the person ensuring that the guests are complying with the rules and enjoying the space. Tasks involve ensuring no loud music at night, creating a sense of safety, chatting with the guests, and helping them keep it clean by handing out trashbags. You might also help restock toilet paper in the toilets or closing them off and calling the sanitary patrol. You will not have to handle bodily fluids or anything that crosses your boundaries.
On the first day, we will have a lot of shifts. We are handling the reception, scanning tickets and guiding people to their spots. We will also be keeping an eye on the fence, so it isn't flipped by runners, and if that happens, we can call someone.
During the festival you must have two shifts during the four music days, with the others being placed during the warm-up period or the final going-home day. There is also the option of having night shifts.
For your availability, you need to select which music days you don't want to work. We want to be as flexible as possible but keep in mind, you'll need to work 4 days spread across 8-hour shifts.
You're welcome to send us special requests by email if you're a morning person, night owl or something else we need to be aware of.
Interested in more responsibility?
As a supervisor you will be leading teams of camping hosts and report back to the HQ-tower. You will be handling a radio/walkie, so you will be our eyes and ears in the field.
As a dispatcher you will be sitting in the headquarters on the camping site where you'll coordinate with the supervisors reporting to you. You will be working with RF's service manager in the HQ-tower. You will make sure the hosts take breaks, get fed and coordinate what they do during your shift.
This will also include a 1-day workshop that prepares you for your tasks.
If you're unsure if you want to take extra responsibility, please send us as email at festival@sr-ruc.dk and let's talk! Supervisors and dispatchers need to be responsible and engaged people, but it'll also let you work closer with the coordinators and hopefully be a fun learning experience.
