Job Opening: Student Assistant for the Student Council at Roskilde University

Do you want to help support students and the study environment as part of our newly established secretariat?

The Student Council at Roskilde University is seeking an engaged, structured, and creative student assistant to support the work of our committees. In this role, you will become an important part of ensuring that the committees' initiatives and projects run smoothly and efficiently.

Who Are We?

The Student Council is the central student association at Roskilde University, representing students' political, social, and academic interests across the university. We work to create a good study environment and ensure that the students' voices are heard—both internally at the university and externally in society.

What Will Your Tasks Be?

As a student assistant, you will be a central part of our secretariat, focusing on supporting the association's permanent committees and any temporary project committees. Your primary tasks will include:

  • Attending and taking minutes at meetings of the Student Council's committees
  • Creating texts and graphic content in Danish and English for committee initiatives
  • Promoting committee activities on social media and physically on campus
  • Coordinating and planning meetings in collaboration with committee members and the executive committee
  • Purchasing and preparing for meetings and initiatives
  • Assisting with cleaning and maintenance of the Student Council's office facilities
  • Writing grant applications and providing administrative support for project funding
  • Ad-hoc tasks related to the committees' work

Who Are We Looking For?

We imagine you are a structured, collaborative, and creative student who:

  • Is studying communication, marketing, social sciences, administration, project management, social entrepreneurship, or a related field
  • Has strong communication skills—both written and verbal—in Danish and English
  • Is a proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and calendar systems
  • Can prepare minutes, agendas, and texts as instructed
  • Has experience with graphic work (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar)
  • Can communicate messages clearly and engagingly on social media, in texts, and through graphic content
  • Can write grant applications and provide administrative support for project funding
  • Has experience with association work, committee work, or project coordination—an advantage but not a requirement

What Do We Offer?

This is a part-time position averaging 7 hours per week, with physical presence and the possibility of remote work by agreement. The work has flexible hours and may occasionally include evenings and weekends without additional compensation, as it follows the committees' schedules. You will participate in planning your own working hours together with the Secretariat Manager, and scheduling will be done at least one month in advance where possible. Consideration will be given to your study and exam periods when scheduling work.

Application

If this sounds like you, we look forward to receiving your application, CV, and optionally a portfolio (if you have examples of previous communication and/or graphic work, you are welcome to attach them) via the application form here by June 23 at 23:59.

Interviews will be held on June 25 and 26.

Note: The position is open to all students, but we encourage applicants to consider any potential conflicts of interest regarding other roles within the Student Council or our partners.

If you have any questions about the position, please contact Oliver Milan Meinike Nielsen at oliver@sr-ruc.dk or by phone at +45 31 71 21 27.
